CASE STUDY

PT Buana Energi Surya Persada (BESP), a subsidiary company of PT Sumber Energi Surya Nusantara (SESNA), owns and operates PV Farm since 2017. BESP intend to expand its existing PV Farm capacity. At this moment, Sumba system is divided into 3 subsystems: West, Southwest and East Sumba system. East Sumba day peak load is around 10 MW. Interconnecting this East Sumba PV Farm with quite large capacity compared to the system day peak load, require in-depth technical grid study to check the impact of the East Sumba PV Farm interconnection to the performance of the electrical system. In order to mitigate this issue, this PV Farm interconnection will be equipped with battery installation. Since this PV Farm will be connected to 20 kV distribution system, the Grid Impact Study will be carried out based on “PERDIR PLN NO: 0064.P/DIR/2019” and it must follow and meet grid requirements.

DELIVERABLES

To confirm the suitability of the planned connection point and to determine the capability of PV East Sumba expansion and PLN network from static and dynamic analysis perspective. This study will be performed in collaboration with PLN and will be focused on the PV East Sumba expansion and its impact to the existing PLN Flores system.
